Lucas is growing and changing right before our eyes! He is starting to notice things above his head and he makes some of the funniest faces. :) He will be two weeks old on Friday but it seems like he has been here so much longer than that. We love him so much!

First week at home
Our first week at home has been full of feeding, diaper changes, burping, and lots of joy! Lucas is growing and changing right before our eyes. He is awake more during the day now and is looking around alot and he loves to kick his little legs and flex his arms. We took him up to the hospital on Thursday for a little check up and he has gained almost a pound and he is very healthy. When Lucas was born he came out with the cord wrapped around his neck and the cord had what they call a "True knot" tied in it. The doctor told us that it is a miracle that he was born with out major health problems, the only thing that he needed was some I.V. antibiotics for a few days. God was truly watching over us and Lucas.
I guess I will back up here and tell a little more about the day of delivery. He was due on June 25Th but he decided to wait until the 27Th to make his appearance. I started having contractions Thursday at dinner and we tried to time them but they were really irregular so we decided to stop timing them. That night we prayed for a clear sign (like my water breaking or something) and not too long after that I got up to use the bathroom and my water broke! We got to the hospital about 12:30am and we got settled in our room as our parents arrived. After a few hours they came and gave me an epidural but that one did not take and the anesthesiologist was not able to make it back around for another 2 1/2 hours so I was in very intense labour for that time. In that time I dilated from a 3 to and 8 and poor Jeremy probably thought I was going to break his hand off.:) The second epidural worked and by that time it was time to push. About 20 mins. later baby Lucas came into the world at 12:49 pm
We had to stay in the hospital for 3 days because he was getting I.V. antibiotics so we got to come home on Monday morning. Jeremy and I love being parents! Lucas is such a joy and is always full of surprises (some more smelly than others!)
Please keep us in your prayers as we adjust to life with a newborn. We love you all!

Back in the Falls..
We have successfully completed our first year at SIBI! This past year has been amazing, wonderful, challenging, trying, enriching, and all around mind-blowing. We have taken some time to look back on ourselves from the time that we arrived at school up till now and we are amazed at the transformation that has taken place in our lives. We have not only grown in our knowledge of the word but we have grown in our closeness to the Lord. As a couple we have learned more about how to love each other like God loves us. As individuals we have learned how to depend on God more fully and know that He is faithful in every circumstance. We are so thankful that God is in control and we are not. He has placed SIBI in our lives at exactly the time that we would thrive in it the most.
We are now back in Wichita Falls for the summer and Jeremy is interning at Tenth and Broad with the youth. This first week he has spent most of his time at the office setting up and working on his lessons for the summer. He helped Allen this weekend with a Jr. High lock in and he is now trying to catch up on some sleep. He will be teaching on Sunday mornings this summer and his class will be focusing in on leadership. He will be taking a character from the Bible each week and looking at the leadership qualities in each. The goal of the class will be for the teens to conduct a worship service at the end of the summer so they can display their leadership skills to the church. Jeremy will also be helping with two summer camps and a mission trip to Mexico while he is here, He is going to be one busy guy!
As for me, I am just trying to relax as much as possible before Lucas arrives. I am due on the 25Th of this month so I am just in the waiting game right now. I have been feeling great so far, but I can tell that my body is getting ready. Please pray for a safe (and on time) delivery.
We love you all and thank you so much for your continued prayers and support!

Baby shower in Tulsa!
We had a great time this past week in Tulsa! We were on spring break so we decided to make the loooong car ride up to Tulsa to visit family and have a baby shower. We are always so amazed at how thoughtful and generous our friends and family are! We have started to get the room together so pictures of that will be up soon!
